Zach Old - Operations Manager for Magic: The Gathering
This is my official introduction to the TierZero audience. I started here back in May and have been involved with all things Magic: The Gathering behind the scenes since then. I mostly play Commander but have recently built a Pauper deck which I'm looking forward to getting to grips with.
1. Bloodline Recollector
My first Commander deck was Edgar Markov, I still love playing it to this day, this just seems like a great add to this deck, but I think it fits in any aristocrat deck, great value all round.
2. Multiply by Zero
I really like this card, although I am not sure if it is good or not. Getting around indestructible seems good but if there are any counters or buffs in play it is totally useless. Art is cool though.
3. Samut, Hazoret's Champion
2 Mana haste enabler. I think that's great, going straight into my Ghired, Conclave Exile deck. I feel like this will often be the extra bit of oomph I need to get over the line. So I'm sure I won't see it for the next 10 games I play with that deck.
Kieran Calvert - Warehouse Manager
Kieran is also a new face to TierZero, joining us following the relocation. He is heading up the warehouse side of things bringing a wealth of knowledge with him. He's also a childhood friend of Zach's who finally managed to convince him to play Magic: The Gathering once they released the Lord of The Rings Commander decks.
1. Draconic Visitor
I am currently brewing a Korvold, Fae Cursed King deck focussing on making treasure tokens and having dragons. This seems like the perfect fit. Instead of making treasures to pay for dragons I just get the dragons straight away. Too easy.
2. Arni, Renowned Champion
As mentioned earlier I was lured into Magic: The Gathering when my friends bought me a Lord of The Rings deck, it is a human deck led by Éowyn, Shieldmaiden. Most turns I should have at least three humans entering the battlefield to make this a considerable beater.
3. Kwia Vigorbloom
I want to build this commander because I cannot afford a Black Lotus so this seems the best way to be able to play it and save thousands of pounds.
Ollie Hickey - Owner
Ollie is the head honcho of TierZero games, as you may know. You may be have been wondering why the magic stock has been growing on the website. It's because it is Ollie's new obsession. Although I feel he builds decks more than he plays at this point.
1. Karn, Gilded Guardian
Karn, but Gold. Draws cards. Enough Said.
2. Sphinx's Approach
Normally, I do not like the "a deck can have any number of cards" cards, but do I want to play 27 Pot of Greeds in my deck and then exile them for more Sphinx's? Yes, yes i do.
3. Gardenize
I know it's bad, but I love Black Market and try to force it in any decks I can, this gives me a second option. My challenge for the next couple of months will be to try and create a Golgari deck that abuses both of these.
